Brookings Fun with Frogs, Unicycles, and Tractors

Pre and post-reunion, we spent several days in Brookings at Grandma and Grandpa's. We biked on the bike trail almost every night because the kids were so excited to catch (and release) more frogs. They have gotten so good at it. Sebby can catch frogs by himself now, and Misha can snatch them out of the water as well as on land. We were especially excited to see a little frog that still had his long tail (sorry, no camera that day!). We also appreciated the turtles, birds, beetles, snails, and dragonflies filling our favorite pond spot with life.

We visited the Kids' Museum, the Brookings Nature Park, and the SDSU campus. We also got Misha riding on his new unicycle from Grandpa! Misha's cute little red 16" uni arrived the day before the reunion, so we took it along with us to practice there. After the reunion, he continued practicing in the alley with me and Grandpa. The smaller unicycle is much easier for him to maneuver and he learned it so quickly.

That's me on the very same trike, and Tanya riding the small one that Nara has inherited.

And the Dairy Bar, of course!
We also made a trip out to Aaron's parents' farm, since Tanya and Aaron were there on their trip home from Montana. The boys loved driving the tractors, going for a ride on the three-wheeler, chasing the chickens, petting the lambs, and picking the raspberries.

Pick a little, talk a little.

Nara's a champ!
